There’s a new challenge in town: the Million Pound Challenge. What used to be known as a weight-loss challenge is now a project to reduce electronic wastes in the world. The goal is to keep one million pound of electronic wastes away from the landfill. But hoarding doesn’t have anything to do with it. The goal is to learn how to send e-wastes to recycling facilities. Most recyclers, the reputable ones like All Green Electronics Recycling, will extract the metallic substances in the electronics so these can be reused. This way, people don’t need to mine for more of these metals.

Hesperia in California is one of those cities joining the Million Pound Challenge. Through the Canyon Ridge High School, the city conducted an electronics recycling collection so that the people in the community will be encouraged to recycle. The event was a venue for residents to drop off their electronics and help lessen the e-wastes going to the landfill.

Bring all of your old electronics, including:

E-Waste EventAll Green Electronics Recycling challenged California schools to collect one million pounds of e-waste for America Recycles Day—and Canyon Ridge High School was one of the schools that stepped up and accepted the challenge.

Members of the community and businesses are encouraged to clean out their garage or attic and donate their old electronics to a good cause. Bring all of your old electronics to the event, including, but not limited to: computers, monitors, televisions, printers, mobile phones, laptops, DVD players, VCRs, microwaves, calculators, iPods, cables and wires, telephones, fax machines, scanners, computer parts, and more. All Green Electronics Recycling promises to recycle everything it accepts in North America and to never send electronics to a landfill or overseas for processing.

Certified Data Destruction is available for a small fee at all of our events.
