About 3.4 million tons of E-wastes consisting mostly of computers and hard copy devices are generated in the US, said an EPA report released in 2012. However, there was only a small portion of these, about 29.2%, which was recycled leaving the rest disposed in landfills or in incinerators. But there is always a better and more acceptable way of handling E-wastes to prevent pollution.

E-wastes require special care during its disposal because these are highly toxic. Its disposal will require the intervention of highly trained professionals to do the work. Proper disposal is always the best option because this will allow recyclers to reuse and repurpose the still useful components or our e-wastes and dispose those that can no longer be reused.

The Christ the King Church in Pleasant Hill, California is hosting an electronics collection event to collect the E-wastes that we no longer use. Visit their collection event!
