Upland E-waste

With the increased usage of electrical and electronic equipment, e-wastes production is also growing enormously around the globe. The recycling of valuable elements like copper and gold has even become a source of livelihood for the informal sector in developing countries.  But the primitive way of burning cables to extract its copper content has been proven to be very hazardous. It exposes the people nearby to a variety of harmful substances that include lead, chromium, brominated flame retardants or polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and cadmium.

People also get to inhale its toxic fumes. But the danger does not end there. Chemicals coming from burning wire can also seep into the soil and mix in our water sources and food. Furthermore, the dismantling of electrical equipment increases the risk of injury on the untrained recycler.

In a more technologically advanced city like Upland, California, residents can tap the assistance of a trusted services provider to take care of their E-wastes recycling needs. The Upland Rotary Club Recycling Fundraiser is organizing an electronics recycling collection event to make proper E-wastes recycling more convenient for the community. Come to our event and bring your e-wastes.

Bring all of your old electronics, including:
