Orange E-waste

Orange City in California has managed to preserve homes built in its Old Town District prior to 1920. Its population of about 139, 812 people as of 2014 does whatever little contribution they can, including the proper disposal to their E-wastes, to ensure the continued preservation of their old homes.

E-wastes that include old televisions, cellphones, stereos, fax machines, discarded computers and other electronic equipment contain heavy metals that can harm humans and the environment, if disposed in landfills. Computer monitors, for example, have cathode ray tubes or CTRs that contain toxic materials such as lead, cadmium, barium, and fluorescent powders.  Studies show that each television unit contains at least four pounds of lead and other hazardous chemicals.

Prevent health hazards by sending your E-waste to a recycling facility. Linda Vista Elementary School is organizing an Electronics Recycling activity to provide the residents of Orange City an area where they can bring their E-waste for pick up by a trusted E-waste recycler. Let us support this endeavor to protect our community.
