Oceanside Electronics Recycling

E-wastes do not belong in landfills. These should instead be sent to government accredited recycling facilities for proper disposal. But little do we know that not all E-wastes components can actually be considered as wastes. There are those that can still be recycled for reuse in the manufacture of new and more useful items. Recycling remains to be the best option in E-waste management.

There is a misconception that all E-wastes are hazardous to human health and the environment. While it is true that there are television monitors that contain cathode ray tubes that can produce dangerous fumes, E-wastes also have components that are safe for reuse.

Most, if not all, of the at least 167,086 residents of Oceanside city own cellphones. Experts say that cellphones contain hazardous materials like mercury, chromium and arsenic. But if recycled properly, useful components like palladium, copper, silver and gold can also be recovered. The recycling of 1 million cellphone units can result to the recovery of palladium – 33 lbs, gold – 75 lbs, copper – 35,274  pounds and silver – 772 lbs.

Let us learn to recycle today and avoid health or environmental hazards that may result from the improper disposal of your E-wastes.  Visit our Free Electronics Recycling Collection Event.
