STUDENT AMBASSADOR

Events are only possible through the support and involvement of students really taking ownership and promoting their events to the community. While many supporters are needed for success, a leader is crucial to take your event to the next level.

The easiest way to showcase your leadership skills to both your peers and local community is to become a Student Ambassador. Your role as a Student Ambassador is to ignite the spark to recycle electronics responsibly within your student body. This includes promoting the event in every way possible to make sure people are aware of the event and at the same time educating about the importance of responsible E-Waste recycling. The Student Ambassador is someone who is passionate about the environment, passionate about leading others to do the right thing and committed to putting in the necessary effort to create a successful event for their school.

OUR CAUSE

The NPHS wrestling team is in it’s 35th year. We are coached by Gary Murphy a JC all American, Lindley Kistler, a 2 time NCAA division one All American from the University of Iowa and Miles Minton NPHS Alum. Competing in the Marmonte League we had 6 league champions in 2015. Two of our wrestlers made it to the state championships last year where only the 32 best by weight in the state compete. Senior Robert Knight at heavy weight went 3 wins and 2 losses, while Junior Jake Wood competing at 184 went 1 win with 2 losses after sustaining a grade 3 sprain of his right ankle. They were the only wrestlers from the Marmonte league to make it to state. Jake will be back this year with the hope of capturing a state championship. This year NPHS wrestling returns a young group of wrestlers looking for a league title. The wrestling team is one of the top performing teams academically at the high school as well. Not all athletes can afford to compete so the NPHS wrestling boosters provide assistance for these families by purchasing uniform, equipment and travel expenses. The NPHS boosters also provide academic scholarships to qualifying graduating senior wrestlers to assist them financially while pursuing an education beyond NPHS. We would not be able to provide this support without the help of our community. That’s why we rely on services like All Green Electronics Recycling to assist us in raising the monies needed to run our program. Please feel free to contact me for additional info.
