Disposable Coffee Cup Eliminates Plastic Lid

Whether your coffee cup is made from paper or Styrofoam, the lid is probably plastic. And we all know how bad plastic can be for the environment…

A company called Compleat seeks to change this with a lidless disposable coffee cup design. The sides of the cup fold up to form a spill-resistant spout, doing away with the plastic lid. Companies will also save money because they won’t have to purchase the cups and lids separately.

This is an interesting concept for a cup, but I have to wonder how “spill-resistant” it actually is. I think I would have to do a test drive before I used this cup with a hot beverage and made a fool out of myself!

Needless to say, reusable cups are the best option out there. But when you’re in a situation where you need a disposable cup, this option sounds promising. Imagine what a difference it would make if Starbucks started using these cups!

What do you think about this coffee cup design? Let us know in the comments below!
