Event Sales and Promotions Specialist
Job Purpose
Ensures the highest level of event profitability by finding partners and promoting and facilitating e-waste collection events.
Overview
Makes cold calls and effectively searches for new potential partners for e-waste events, works to promote and market these events, and overseas event facilitation on the day it takes place.

Event Sales
Makes cold calls to cities, counties, schools, churches, non-profit groups, businesses, and other entities in order to find partners for e-waste collection events.Attends chamber meetings, mixers, city meetings, trade shows, and other networking events to develop new relationships for e-waste events. Searches online to find collection events held by other entities and attempt to “bring them over” to All Green. Spends time in the field visiting schools, churches, and business parks in an attempt to find new event partners.Makes cold calls to find sponsors for events who are willing and able to donate money, time, or services to help promote events.
Event Promotions
Oversees the process of selecting and designing various forms of promotions and advertisements for the event. Goes into the field and finds local companies and entities willing to help promote the event by passing out flyers or posting banners and posters.Goes into the field to oversee the process of door-to-door distribution of flyers.Goes to the city to acquire all necessary permits for holding and promoting the event.Goes into the field and physically places banners on street corners, fences, and other places.Goes into the field and places promotional signs (e.g. campaign signs) into busy street corners, freeway off-ramps, and other places to attract traffic for the event. Works to establish strategic partnerships with local businesses and non-profits to help promote the event at no cost to All Green Electronics Recycling.Writes and distributes press releases for each event and follows up.Contacts the media via phone to “earn” an article or event listing in publications, TV, or radio. Promotes event by listing it on dozens of free websites.
Event Facilitation
Schedules staff to work the event including labor, drivers, promoters, and admins. Attends the event and is the first person to arrive at the event site and the last person to leave. Events often take place on weekends. Ensures the event is setup correctly in the morning according to a preset plan and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).Ensures the event is cleaned up at the end of the day according to a preset plan and SOP.Throughout the day, guides and directs the workers to ensure the event runs smoothly.Conducts log collection, customer surveys, and other “light duty” activities throughout the event.Ensures the event is professional and well-orchestrated.
Event Follow-Through
The business day after the event, prepares all necessary documentation, results, and other information necessary to close out the event.Follows up with customers and partners with phone calls, emails, and thank you cards in order to help nurture and grow the relationship for future events.Communicates with management and teammates about lessons learned and best practices to continually improve the events process.
Required Qualifications
At least 1 year of previous sales experience requiredAt least 1 year of experience in outside promotions requiredExperience with grass root marketing and promotionsAdditional experience with political campaigns or other neighborhood campaigns is a plusExperience with a position that requires a lot of driving
